FANIANI VINEYARDS

NAPA VALLEY - COOMBSVILLE AVA

Faniani Vineyards is located in the Coombsville AVA of Napa Valley.  My grandmother's family, the Faniani's, were living in the Butte County area of California by the 1860's.  The vineyard was named after them to pay tribute to my Swiss-Italian roots and their pioneer spirit.

In September of 2012, I purchased the property that is now Faniani Vineyards.  The land was permitted to plant just over 4 acres of vineyard.  Since it's been expanded to over 6 acres.  The vision to grow high end Cabernet Sauvignon was born.  To pursue my dream I surrounded myself with a team of talented people, dug soil pits and laid out a plan.  First phase was planting rootstock in 2014 and field graft in 2015.  Second phase was bench grafts in 2016 for the addtionally permitted area.  The first harvest was delivered to a contracted winery in 2016.  What an exciting day!

The Coombsville AVA unique cooler micro climates produce full body fruit with lots of expression and compexity with silky tannins and balanced acidity.  Every growing season is different and unpredictable.  Farming has taught me how to be more adaptable and appreciate each moment of every day.  Outside of family and friends, there's nothing in my life that brings me more joy than Faniani Vineyards.  Each day I bask in the peaceful beauty of the land.  The passion becomes part of you.
